The Ockendon Cubs meets every Thursday 6-7.30pm at the Scout and Guiding headquarters in Tamarisk Road, South Ockendon. Every week around 40 Cubs engage in a wide range of fun and stimulating activities as they work on various badges and challenges. There are about 40 Cubs, all between 7 years 9 months and 11years old.
We are big, loud and full on. No minute is boring as we pack in loads of games and fun to each night. The pack has a long waiting list so we must be something right!!
Cubs is all about having fun, learning, being creative, trying new activities and learning about what it means to take responsibility for themselves, others and their community. Every week seees the Cubs getting involved in different activites and challenges: balloon car racing, archery, climbing, science experiments, competitions, sports, games, visits from the Police and fire brigade. Every week is designed to stimulate the Cubs and provide a whole load of fun. As well as the normal weekly Cub pack evening, we also involved in the district programme. There are roughly 10 district events per year including a swimming gala, district camping trips, challenge days, sports day, carol services, games days and so much more.
